Bournemouth School for Girls New Art Block

The project incorporates the construction of a new art black featuring 2 double size Art Studio’s a 6th form Art Studio, 4 standard classrooms, reception and ancillary areas.  
 
Sustainability features of the project include:  
 
• Ground source heat pumps serving under floor heating  
• Wind catchers – automatic natural ventilation with overnight re-cooling  
• High efficiency luminaires with automatic controls including absence control and with 2 zone dimming daylight sensing  
• Improved thermal characteristics  
• Lower air permeability  
• Smart metering  
• EPC B rating with 25% improvement on requisite standards  
• Annual saving 14 tons of Carbon Dioxide compared to 2002 standards
