HAVANT CIVIC OFFICES

The project incorporates the refurbishment of the existing Civic offices 7,500 sq.m plus the provision of a new 500 sq m atrium entrance building.  
 
The project brief includes the requirement for a Very Good BREEAM rating and the maximisation of natural ventilation.  
 
The ventilation strategy is dealt with in a variety of ways as follows:  
 
i. Wind catchers to 2nd floor open plan offices with night purge and solar boost fans.  
ii. Mechanical ventilation to internal offices, meeting rooms and to areas calculated to excessively over heat.  
iii. Opening windows for cross flow ventilation to appropriate open plan areas.  
iv. Nigh purging of all open plan spaces.  
v. Option study for automatic opening windows, automatic dampers to staircases to provide stack ventilation.  
vi. Auto opening windows/dampers to entrance atrium and boost via further auto opening windows and extract fans.  
 
The perimeter of the building is provided with integrated perimeter heating, small power and IT distribution.  
 
Lighting is fully dimmable automatic with PIR and daylight linking.
