Community Sustainable Energy Programme

The Practice have achieved the status of Project Development Consultant for the Community Sustainable Energy Programme. This was confirmed by BRE on 1st April 2008. Please refer to the Register of Consultants www.communitysustainable.org.uk  
 
The above allows applications to the capital grants scheme for a project development grant in order to ensure the technical and financial viability of a project. Project development grants of up to £5,000 or 75% of the study cost are available whichever is the lower and must be carried out by a BRE Registered Consultant.  
 
Technologies to be considered include;  
• Solar Photovoltaic  
• Solar Thermal Hot water  
• Wind Turbines  
• Heat Pumps  
• Automated Wood Pellet Stoves  
• Wood Fuelled Boiler Systems  
• Micro-Hydro Turbines  
• Energy Efficiency Measures  
 
Grants will only be awarded to qualify not for profit community based organisations including schools and colleges, charities and trusts, parish councils and faith organisations.  
 
Organisations can apply for a capital grant of up to £50,000 or 50% of the micro-generation project cost. It is possible to achieve matched funding from the Low Carbon Buildings Programme (phase 2).
