Gary Jones Associates Limited may operate as CDM Co-ordinators on specific projects where the building services content of the works forms the major part of the works (i.e. projects such as plant replacement and systems refurbishment). This would generally be where the mechanical and electrical elements represent in excess of 80% of the work content of the project.

Gary Jones Associates Limited as a professional practice of building services consulting engineers have specific responsibilities under the CDM Regulations as Designers. These include:

Competency to perform function
Allocation of adequate resources to projects
Avoid/eliminate foreseeable hazards and risks to health and safety during design
Provide information on residual risks
Combat risks at source
Give priority to the protection of people
Include information on aspects of the project including materials use
Co-operate with CDM Co-ordinator and other designers.

In particular it is the policy of the practice to minimise risk particularly with regard to Health and Safety in design.
